Unofficially a blog that's been shut down, you might still find the occasional post here where I mention something about exercise, rant/comment on life, or post my amateur third-person poetry.

Just completed a short run - 4 rounds around the park. My main focus was less on timing, than on trying to run at a continuous sustainable pace, and I was quite pleased with the result. Did some pressups as well after that.

Yesterday we went to the shopping centre where we shopped for clothes and household stuff. Normally my attention span wanes after about an hour and a bit of hanging around in the women's store while Kate tries on shoes, tops, trousers, skirts and all, but I was pleased that I went three hours without complaining. Napped in the afternoon - the sun rose at about 5:45 yesterday and I was awake at the time, listening to the chirping of birds and couldn't get back to sleep.

We watched Jackie Chan's Drunken Master in the evening. It's one of Jackie's earliest films, about how he learns a sort of drunken fighting style. While the fight scenes are not Matrix-style quality, they are amazing and good, and some of the scenes are incredible, considering there are no special effects. There's this shot of the main villain flying through the air landing kicks on three opponents in turn before landing. There's another of an inverted Jackie (as if on an inversion machine) doing about 20 full situps, while transferring cups of water from a lower tank to another one near his legs. Phew!

This afternoon I'm going to lift for arms and teach piano. I'm trying also to get everything done for when term begins, as wellas settle the wedding arrangements, so the next few weeks won't be unnecessarily hectic.

I've spent much of today and yesterday tidying up the house - my room is an absolute mess from week to week. Despite the weekends spent clearing it up, it loses its state during the course of 5 weekdays. Everything I need (or don't) is neatly packed away, and I think I need a better system for my work stuff. It often ends up taking up a big messy space on the floor.

The weekend's been really nice weather - cool. It will be rainy tomorrow, but I don't have a run scheduled. Next one is Tuesday. Will lift instead today - my arms still hurt from all that overloading on Friday.

Have updated my Blogger page to include newer links.

Since my last blog I've been running sporadically - in the last month we've witnessed extreme differences in temperature, from a hot 32 deg Celsius to cool 10 deg. With starting work at school again, as well as doing my CELTA course, running hasn't quite been prioritised, although I've still been on the weights. I've put on a bit of weight and I like how it looks (I always was a bit on the skinny side) but I don't feel I've compromised much in terms of fitness. I went five rounds around the park today in 25 minutes, and obviously I won't be able to go for longer distances like I used to, but I can always work back up to it. I think it helps, though, that I do a lot of walking while travelling to work - I haven't been as out of shape as I thought I would be.

Having half term break this week so I aim to be running every alternate day, and keeping up with my weights.
