Just completed a short run - 4 rounds around the park. My main focus was less on timing, than on trying to run at a continuous sustainable pace, and I was quite pleased with the result. Did some pressups as well after that.
Yesterday we went to the shopping centre where we shopped for clothes and household stuff. Normally my attention span wanes after about an hour and a bit of hanging around in the women's store while Kate tries on shoes, tops, trousers, skirts and all, but I was pleased that I went three hours without complaining. Napped in the afternoon - the sun rose at about 5:45 yesterday and I was awake at the time, listening to the chirping of birds and couldn't get back to sleep.
We watched Jackie Chan's Drunken Master in the evening. It's one of Jackie's earliest films, about how he learns a sort of drunken fighting style. While the fight scenes are not Matrix-style quality, they are amazing and good, and some of the scenes are incredible, considering there are no special effects. There's this shot of the main villain flying through the air landing kicks on three opponents in turn before landing. There's another of an inverted Jackie (as if on an inversion machine) doing about 20 full situps, while transferring cups of water from a lower tank to another one near his legs. Phew!
This afternoon I'm going to lift for arms and teach piano. I'm trying also to get everything done for when term begins, as wellas settle the wedding arrangements, so the next few weeks won't be unnecessarily hectic.
