Unofficially a blog that's been shut down, you might still find the occasional post here where I mention something about exercise, rant/comment on life, or post my amateur third-person poetry.

Another two clocked

I’m settling into the routine of running twice a week – I think. I hope it stays that way, although I know I’ll probably find it hard come November, when the lovely cool weather and bright days give way to the shorter and colder days. On Wednesday I ran for 30 minutes, planning the route so that it encompassed my old running loop, the one that takes 13:25 to do at eight minutes per mile pace. I covered it in 12:30, and was slightly disappointed to discover at the end of the run that I’d done just over 3.5 miles, which takes me over the magical 8mins/mile pace. I blame it on the hills that sandwiched the run – although I should really blame it on my inability to handle those hills.

Today’s run felt slightly harder. Ran a bit to the nearby park and did two laps - the first lap in 12:30, and the second in 11:30, without a break. For me, a fairly good indicator of the effort of a run is whether my mind has a chance to dawdle and think about unimportant things. On Wednesday I ran to a tune in my head, today I was more concerned about catching the next breath and holding the pace.

I also had the time to do the usual pressups, bicep curls, calf raises and crunches and for the bicep curls I’m cycling between a heavier weight at 20 reps and a lighter weight at 30, 40 reps.

I don’t know what it is about bananas that appeal to ladies (see previous post comments) and I shan't speculate (hahahahaha) but since people want to see the banana trick I’ll humor you. (I even spell ‘humor’ your way.) The password is “deskbound”, and I’m videoing my reflection in the mirror and using the camera and silly hat to block out my face. Watch it while you can, as I'll delete it next week. Who needs that sort of notoriety?

You see, I really was born with a big mouth.

And I thought I'd seen everything.... Actually, that's kinda cool that you can do that. Glad I caught it in time.
