Unofficially a blog that's been shut down, you might still find the occasional post here where I mention something about exercise, rant/comment on life, or post my amateur third-person poetry.

Tight squeeze

Some students were away from school today - for whatever reason, who knows? - but it meant I got home earlier than usual. Yippee! Enough time to squeeze in a quick 150 pressups followed by 3 miles, although my rush to get everything done in a compressed amount of time meant the 3 miles ended right at the doorstep of the barber - who must be a little perplexed at the heating controls in his shop, and wondering why the more he cut, the more I sweated. Yuck. Bad bad bad - I will never do that again. But I was really pressed for time - to get a run in, get hair cut, get home and changed so I could put the washing machine on (with the stinky running kit), get the grocery shopping done while the machine did its thing, and get back from shopping before the machine completed spinning so I could then also make a few calls before I put the washing out... you get the idea. I live my life in ten-minute blocks. I'm on the twenty-minute blogging break.

It's forecast to rain heavily over the next few days. Which may pretty much rule out a long run on Sunday, but then again, the British record on forecasting weather these days is as convincing as Hillary's backing of Barack.

If you folks across the pond ever wondered what British TV is like, you can watch BBC programmes on the internet via this link:

Another channel that appears on British TV: Channel 4

Channel 4 has some really bizarre programmes, one of which airs around 8-ish in the evening when we're having dinner.

It's about people with embarrassing illnesses that makes them uneasy about going to see their doctor, and is (in my opinion) a little graphic for 8pm. When we first channel-flicked to one previous episode, we made it in time to see a guy bending over to show us some really unnecessary behind bits. And a doctor demonstrating on another guy how to check for prostrate cancer and all that.

Have a go at the latest episode - takes a while to load, with two ads you can't fast-forward. But explore it and see - and when you're at 5:19, just remember this is prime time TV. It would be interesting to hear what you think about this programme via the comments.

I have more pressups and curls to do, and my blogging alarm is ringing, so I'm outta here.

What happened to your site? Where are all the great graphics and archives????

Your version of The Office (the original) is so much better than ours. I couldn't open the embarrassing illnesses episodes...our content filter at work blocked them.

I was blocked as well and I am afraid my wife will walk down and ask what the heck I'm watching. I'll take your word for it.

Now it looks normal again! I must have entered it on a bad hair day because it looked all messed up. :-)
