Just checking in...
Gosh - has it been over a month already? I've got a lot of blog reading to catch up on.
Mid-term breaks have arrived, thankfully. The last month has been a bit of a drag, particularly this last week, but now we have the week to wind down a bit. I can slightly understand why the boys at our school moan about having school on Saturdays, although having said that, they do have shorter terms and finish school two weeks earlier than the rest of their friends. I suppose week after week of six days' schooling gets to one after a while.
We are leaving middle of next week to visit my sister-in-law, who's had another little boy recently. He's probably going to be a long- or high-jumper; his legs are that long. Or maybe a shot-putter: he's got that scrunched-up face and musn't have wanted to leave his cocoon.
I ran for about thirty minutes today - the previous run was two weeks ago, and the one after that probably even further back. I can count the number of times I've run since March probably on one hand, so today I was fairly satisfied to run at 8:15 - 8:30 pace, even though that naturally felt harder than it should have. I'd like to get back to feeling like I'm running properly again, and it should be better once June is over as term at the main school ends and summer school lasts only half a day.
Needless to say, I didn't do that race last week that I had been thinking about. Why? Because I hadn't run enough, and I didn't have the time - I was typing worksheets and reports on that Sunday.
I'm still doing the indoor weights, pressups et al, and the need for stretching makes itself known every day, so I try to squeeze in a few reps or stretches at every opportunity during the day.
I must have mucked something up with the post comments in the previous posts - that's what you get for meddling with templates.
Nothing much but boring news on this side of the pond. New London mayor, credit crunch, housing crash ... blah blah blah. What's the view outside my well like?

Hi hi, I'm still here. Just back from Finland so no training for a week. I slept 14 hours straight after I got back. :-) Getting a little worried that my O.D. Tri is in a little over a month.

I understand all to well how time can slip by. Just keep it up as best as you can and hope you do get to the racing soon.

There is no way I could teach school 6 days a week. I would go nuts. I think 5 is doable, but 4 days a week is better.

We also have a new Major. The worse has always to come...
