5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
This is the last week of summer school. Thank goodness! I thought, a few weeks ago, that having prepared some stuff for the next two weeks, that things were going to be a little easier, and I would have the afternoons to relax at home (summer school runs from 9 - 1), put my feet up, read, run... until the course director transferred me to teach a class that was of a different level to the one I prepared work for. My hopes plummeted faster than one can say "Jettison!" That's two weeks of advance preparation down the drain. Unfortunately this is how our summer school works - most recently between last Friday night and Saturday morning I worked till late and started before dawn preparing stuff on the theme of space, only for it to change at noon on Saturday to "Dinosaurs". Great! The theory of damage limitation requires me to teach about space for about two days and then deviate to dinosaurs through some strange play about astronauts discovering dinosaurs on the planet Dina.
Don't get me wrong. I love the teaching. I love the kids I work with. Despite my gripes about the school, I'd probably be back next year for the entire duration. Mainly because I need the work, despite my doubts about the lack of clarity and organization.
I did manage to get a few runs in now and then - I'm still hovering under the 8-minutes/mile mark, although I should try to edge it towards the right end.
Have a good week folks!

That would be frustrating about the change in schedule. I hope you are taking a break at some point.

I've had a similarly "unrelaxing" summer, made more obvious by the fact everyone else seems to be taking it easy. Well, that countdown is quickly approaching "0" -- good for you!
