Unofficially a blog that's been shut down, you might still find the occasional post here where I mention something about exercise, rant/comment on life, or post my amateur third-person poetry.

hear, hear

Headset glued to ear
Signaller Jones
endured the
repetitive thumping
witnessed
shouts and screams
of men exposed

to artillery bands
playing live
song after song
polyrhythms of fire
dulling the senses
Preludes to a
ground assault

The hearing aid
exposes him to
Today's mechanized infantry
volume set to max
rolling out
song after song
of repetitive thumping
shouts and screams assaulting
passers-by

Civilians
overrunning civility
dulling senses
and lives

I still need to fit into the poem these lines: "Use headphones and keep the damned volume down, you inconsiderate twats".
