Unofficially a blog that's been shut down, you might still find the occasional post here where I mention something about exercise, rant/comment on life, or post my amateur third-person poetry.

Just typing this before I start work - brought my laptop in, so why not?

It's been a miserable week so far - somehow I keep thinking about the futility of staying in this place, trying to teach "Music" to kids who don't have the discipline to keep still or work, or to just "get on with it". I've had good ideas about teaching music, I feel, but because I lack the management capabilities to get kids to sit still and behave, I can't bring out the keyboards for fear of them trashing the keys and giving me problems in class. So Music for 13 year olds here is simply, in an hour, to "write two four-line verses and a chorus" and "design a CD cover", which isn't very fulfilling for me or the kids, I suppose.

I surfed the internet in school yesterday (haven't got it at home, so I'll be bringing my laptop to work frequently to use the wireless here) and found some positions looking for music teachers, so I'll be writing off to them.

What does that mean for exercise? Not much - I guess the recurring theme of my blog is that when work takes up too much of my life, everything else goes downhill. I'm still doing the cycling to work, but weights are slacking off a bit. The weather this weekend has been rubbish too - in some areas, more rain fell over the weekend than in the last two months - and I think running, unlike how it was in the hot humid weather of Singapore, doesn't have as much appeal here in the cold. I read Mark's blog and thought I'm not too bothered about running either!

Bell's rung - time for lessons. I'll be happy when it's two hours from now, and my lousy classes are over! Waiting expectantly for lunchtime.
