Doing penance
Yesterday I succumbed to procrastination and stayed indoors. I did weights instead, choosing to target triceps. The workout was simply to combine sets of pressups, tricep presses, tricep kickbacks, lateral raises and bent-over raises in a variety of paces. For those interested, it went something like this:
Pressups (wide) x 20 normal
Pressups (narrow) x 10 slow
Tricep kickbacks x 15 normal
Tricep presses x 10/15 slow
Pressups (wide) - as many as possible at normal pace
Lateral raises (henceforth as many as possible) normal
Tricep kickbacks - slow
Lateral raises - normal
Pressups - slow
Presses - normal
etc...
I can't remember what else followed; all I know is I kept mixing the combinations for about 30 continuous minutes - I know it was 30 minutes because I was occasionally glancing at the status bar on the computer while it was backing up. Pathetic, I know.
I love this workout though - the tricep kickbacks target the area particularly well for me. The slow movements (3 to 5 seconds each phase) really work it.
Anyway, this morning I went running in the morning. It was rainy and dark, and I did 20-25 minutes at a slightly faster pace than usual. (Think 10K energies channelled into 20 minutes.) It was, in a way, quite fun to go running in the rain and sort of a taste of what's to come in winter. I think I did everything possible in the rain except swim in it.
Now if you'll excuse me, I've got jobs to do, shoes to dry out and a train to catch...

Ah, autumn...when the weather gets colder and the impetus to go outside wanes...strength training is ever so important, though, so I think you're on the right track! Now it's time for me to go hop on my indoor trainer :P
