Unofficially a blog that's been shut down, you might still find the occasional post here where I mention something about exercise, rant/comment on life, or post my amateur third-person poetry.

#20

Number 20 was an insignificant twenty minutes on the stepper, although it felt relatively easier to get to 75-80%MHR. I followed that up with slow weights for dumbbell curls - taking 10 seconds each on the concentric and eccentric phase on the lift - which is nice to do from time to time.

I have a bit of time off this week so I'll squeeze in more training sessions, while being careful not to overtrain. The weather for Wednesday and Thursday is forecast to be dry, and relatively warm, so I might do some long distance running then. I'll also have to find some time to do some weights, situps etc, which have tended to be neglected while I focussed on the runs.

This being my midterm break from teaching, I've also tried to forget as much as possible about work and do things I normally would not have time to do during the week. Yesterday we went to watch Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, which was entertaining, with batches of dry humour. Wallace and Gromit are quite popular in the UK, and the whole movie is painstakingly made from plasticine models - only 3 seconds of footage filmed each day, apparently. There are funny puns and corny scenes, and it was nice to see it on the big screen. I'm also catching up on Alias series 3. Somedays I'm itching to get back to work, to keep preparing for future lessons, so it can be a little weird forcing myself to ease up a bit.

It's only 7am so I might catch a quick weights session before the sun rises.
