Unofficially a blog that's been shut down, you might still find the occasional post here where I mention something about exercise, rant/comment on life, or post my amateur third-person poetry.

205-pressup entry

I've gotta admit this ... I'm typing this in my English work room during lunch time, stopping at the end of every few lines or minutes to do a set of pressups (35 here). My only hope is that someone doesn't walk in and find me in shirt and tie, shoes off, and hands in a triangle on the floor (30 here). Or the room in the block directly opposite remains free of people for the next few minutes or so.

I skipped the usual Monday lunch run for a variety of reasons. It was mainly because we got back late last night (25), and today being the start of the second mid-term, I wanted to make sure I'd all my stuff for this term more or less prepped. Other neglibible excuses include the fact (15 slow) that other members of the family had had cold and I didn't want to test my resistance by packing in a lot into a day, I'm not (20) keen on running with a bag full of kit for the train later on during the day.... excuses, really. But this running break was intended, and I'm keen on starting shorter distances at faster paces soon(20).

We had a nice time with my in-laws. The wife's sister and husband came on the Saturday as well so we had a chance to see our nephew. He's only turned one recently but is already bum-rushing about. We took him to the playground and while he was on the swing I surprised myself by doing 10 chinups on an overhead bar. It felt quite easy and I think I could have gone on to about 15 or 16, but didn't want to feel like a showoff in front of her family. I (15 slow) thought that I would have regressed after three years of not doing any, but it only goes to show that my weights programme is going ok. I used to hoist 50 pounds for bicep curls and have since dropped to doing no more than 15 pounds, but obviously the way (15) I'm doing them is working the muscle more.

Run intended tomorrow - we'll have to see what sort of a run it is when tomorrow comes, but I'm hoping to do a few laps of our park as a warmup and add a few sprints (15 slow).

In the course (15 fast) of typing this entry, I've done 205 pressups!

Wait till I introduce you to my 300-pressup pasta!
