Back Issue
And I wasn't even trying to be corny.
You don't undo years of stretch neglect in a week, so I shouldn't expect that the discomfort in my lower back/hip area will obey my orders to go away immediately. The area of discomfort - the triangle area from the hips to the coccyx - has been habitually nagging at me over the past few days. Rest is a good suggestion, but strangely enough, it is the lying down and resting of the back that makes it tighten up. Some mornings, no exaggeration, I walk like Quasimondo. And some days I think, "Oh yeah, the back's feeling better today, how about a run la-" and wham! Sharp tension in the afore-mentioned area.
It's frustrating because part of me wants to really get back to running regularly and properly. But in the meantime, I have to just wait for my back to take its time to do whatever it wants. And I'm concerned that I've had such an irregular running spell for quite a long time, if I have to take a long break now I might just find myself not bothering what my back sorts itself out. Before Autumn I wanted to keep running regularly so when I got to the warmer and lighter months I could build on that. Having arrived at where I want to, I have to do ... what?
Blah blah blah - my posts are boring especially when I don't run. I can't speak of the hills I felt proud to conquer, the low mins/mile ratio, the runners high. Only my thoughts of "is my mild scoliosis worse?", my thoughts of doing more cycling and less running in the long-term, my ambiguous running goals, and more meaningless stuff like that.
One stymate's birthday tomorrow - can you guess who?

My guess is Susan, and that is really a guess.
Regardless, get that back well soon my pink friend. I need you back on the horse kicking my tail running 6:30 splits.

Your posts are never boring, they're always piggy and... punny.
Okay, I'll leave the word games to you, I'm obviously an amateur :)

I think that's why I don't post so much anymore. Well I am busy with kid sports, but since I'm not running nearly the miles I should and blogging about walking....well that is boring.
I hope you get into running form soon.

Yikes, hope it's better soon. I wish I could figure out how to give those Pilates tips over the internet... you could use a video, but it's really best if you get some instruction first. Keep working that core in the meantime!

Do not rest a sore back! that is the worst thing you can do.. keep moving but don't over do it. One time I found that playing a light gave of catch in the yard helped my missplaced back.
Best regards.
Rice.

Rice, I'm moving, but not running with my back like that.
Yes, everyone, it was Runner Susan's birthday! Is it a new age group? (Smack heading my way).
Since we're on the subject of birthdays, everyone, be sure to send some birthday spam to Massoman on the 11th. Whoops, sorry, Massoman, your secret is out.
