Back again
I woke up this morning feeling tired, but decided to go running nonetheless. I've been trying to get back into a pattern of running every other day, and didn't want to spoil it by taking an unnecessary break. I couldn't live with the guilt.
I ran for only a measly 20 minutes, mostly one-minute sprints after a warm-up. Just before the last one I really felt tired and as if I was struggling, and the last sprint was slow - more like 1:10 than 1:00 to cover the same distance.
Over the course of the day my lower back has seized up again, which is pretty disappointing, considering I've been stretching, doing ab-work, anything to prevent a repeat of last week ... and it's happened again. Shucks.

Darn back! Go easy on it and take the ab work easy to start - it can be hard on an already aching back. Do you belong to a gym where you could pick up some Pilates classes? They'll help (after you are healed, that is). Get better soon!

You guilty feelings?? Come on....:) Sometimes rest is the only option, and when you get back into it, forget the sprints ya speed deamon, work back into it SLOWLY. And if all else fails, Advil. Take care and you will be oinking it up in no time.

Oh little piggy what are we going to do with you? You need to listen to your body and rest GUILT-FREE!

Michelle is bias with Pilates, but it is a good stuff. And any running is better than no running (to me, and I am bias too).

Yes indeed, 20 minutes is better than nothing. In fact a 20 minute run sounds rather nice right now.
