Unofficially a blog that's been shut down, you might still find the occasional post here where I mention something about exercise, rant/comment on life, or post my amateur third-person poetry.

The run that never was

Intended to go running today, but never managed it. I didn’t fancy running outside in the alternating rain-sun-hail weather, complemented with a chilly breeze. From the blogs I’ve read, it seems like it is crap rubbish weather everywhere else as well. Of course, “rubbish” is relative; over here Himalayan yak herders would be catching a tan; I'll stay indoors.

Today might have been the last shot for cardio until next week. This week I’m going to have to rely a bit more on office weights and office stretching to somehow help contribute to my aim of running faster times. It will be a busy week as Mrs Try's birthday is coming up. I've got to find time to do the party preparations, cake etc all done secretly during the times she is not at home. Since I also do my weights/cardio etc at the times she is not at home, something has to give. Unlike many others, I don't face inner struggles with taking a training day or two off, if there is a good cause for it. I like fitness enough to not procrastinate (too much) about it, but it is not the world to me. There is always another day to run. I wouldn't go out and do something for the sake of doing it - I find it too meaningless to run, just to say I've run.

(You might have decided by this point that I'm a poor excuse for a lazy bastard.)

Work-wise, I’m happier being back at work this week. Too much lounging around just gets to me, and I feel guilty about having free time. When I'm busy I want free time; when I have free time I want to be busy - the sad story of my poor life. Sigh.
