Ouch. My abs hurt. I was going to go to the gym at work, but got too caught up with admin stuff.
More exam scripts to mark...so I did them while watching TV, and then in between commercials did some squats. I found what works for me quads is not weights, but actually sitting on a chair and getting up slowly - the movement is strict, and done slowly, I really feel the burn. I'm more comfortable with that, really, because with my bum knee and all, doing weights for legs just makes it worse.
While we're on the subject of exercises that work well, I should mention that hamstring curls - lying or standing - aren't effective for me either. Yesterday I tried something new - lay on the bed and curled one leg, using the foot of the other leg to resist. I kept the movement slow as well, and it seemed to work better than the exercises with weights I've been doing for my hammies. And I could read while doing them too.
Just now I wasn't doing those 3 sets of 10 "get-out-of-the-chairs" for the quads, I did more elevated pressups, feet on the chair, in between commercials as well. Hey, I try to "cross-train" to save time. I just hope I didn't scribble any lines from Everybody Loves Raymond onto my students' scripts.
Going to try getting up at 5am to go for a run. One of the bad things about running early is I feel tired as the day progresses, and I feel I owe it to my students to be energetic to teach. Or at least to stay awak
