Unofficially a blog that's been shut down, you might still find the occasional post here where I mention something about exercise, rant/comment on life, or post my amateur third-person poetry.

Fried Wings, anyone?

Thursday night the Mrs had to catch up on a few readings for her class. I figured that the 6-8 pages would probably take her an hour or so, even at her speed-reading pace, because FM Alexander is one hell of a long-winded fellow. To read his convoluted paragraphs is one thing, to understand him is another. So I did some abs, and then rolled out the dinky weights for two sets of tricep kickbacks. I did them in a controlled pace, free hand mirroring the weight hand.

The Good
The triceps have definitely been worked, according to TryAthlete Training Principle #1: Achieve as much as possible by doing as little as possible.
Dorian Yates, a former Mr Olympia, used to say that he trained his body on one set per bodypart. But maybe he said that to screw his rivals.
I'm also still looking for a book by Walter George, a runner who did 16K in 50 minutes on what was 3K a day of training.

The Bad
An all-day neckache that feels like I hit Julius Jones helmet-to-helmet on fourth and one on the goal line. Needless to say cardio yesterday was skipped. Was it bad form on the kickbacks? Or was it the damn crunches?

Some time this weekend I'll set sail for cardio #37 and grab some weight-y treasures.

Rumour (spelling: we're over the Atlantic here) has it that Alias is going to be scrapped. Dang! No more Garner and Vartan! What am I going to be stepping to? Endless TV re-runs of Friends and that awful "Smelly Cat" song?

Next week I will have two days where I can go out running at lunchtime-ish - the warmest time of the day. Woo hoo! I can't wait!
